Prof. Dr. Rauf Naghiyev was born on December 9, 1977, in Baku, Azerbaijan. He graduated with honors secondary school in 1994 and the Medical Faculty of Azerbaijan Medical University in 2000. Upon graduation, he began his career at the University’s Department of Urology.
In 2006 he was awarded a PhD and the Doctor of Medical Sciences (D.Sc.) degree in 2018. Between 2016 and 2023 he served as Associate Professor at the Department of Urology and in 2023, he was elected as Professor. In 2024 he was appointed as the Head of the Department of Urology in Azerbaijan Medical University.
Prof. Naghiyev is the founder and current chairman of the Azerbaijan Endourological Society, established in 2023. In 2025 he was elected as international member of TAU and awarded from Turkish Association of Urology «International Academic Contribution Award».
He is the author 76 scientific publications and 2 textbooks. He has participated in more than 100 international and national congresses, delivering presentations at 53 and chairing 24 of them.
